Social Science Degree Program

Back to all programs

The major in Social Science provides a wide-ranging, multi-disciplinary perspective through the use of introductions to government, history, geography, economics, and sociology. Students in the Criminal Justice, Government or History concentrations then complete a specific number of credit hours in their disciplines. Since this degree includes many elective credits, students wishing to maximize their transfer credits often choose this major.

While some graduates pursue degrees in law enforcement, government, law or public administration, many will pursue jobs with private companies, government agencies, or non-profit organizations. Social Science degrees offer flexibility in designing a broad-based liberal arts education program that fulfills the goals of each individual student.
